ABOUT AVENAL ASSEMBLY
History
Avenal Assembly of God was formed in the Oil Boom Days in the fall of 1935. Founded in the fire of Pentecostal Revival, the Revivalist preacher was Rev. Metzker and the song leader was Sis. May Roth. A permanent building was purchased in 1936. The church is celebrating its 88th year of continuous worship.
AAG continues in this Pentecostal tradition, ministering to people of all ages. Ministries include Sunday School, Bible Study, Evangelistic Services, Youth Activities and many opportunities for growth and discipleship in the Body of Christ. For the past 20 years, AAG has been led by Rev. Douglas Spencer and has been greatly blessed by his ministry and heart to serve the people of Avenal.
